Adjective Agreement Both Levels

French adjectives must agree with the noun they describe in gender and number.

Regular Pattern

Masculine Feminine
Singular petit petite
Plural petits petites

un petit garçon (a small boy)

une petite fille (a small girl)

des petits garçons (small boys)

des petites filles (small girls)

Adjective Position

MOST Adjectives Come AFTER the Noun

une maison moderne (a modern house)

un livre intéressant (an interesting book)

une fille intelligente (an intelligent girl)

BAGS Adjectives Come BEFORE the Noun Level 2
